This is my second Houdini project where I wanted to make a tool to quickly produce game ready cliff assets. The tool have different view states to tweek the shapes without having to wait too long to get where you want. At its most basic state, a full new seed takes about 3 seconds to view and the finished highpoly between 1-4 minutes.
I created a basic Substance Designer generator to go with this and given more time I would've created Python script to talk to Substance Automation Toolkit. This tool is prepared to work with Houdini Engine, and it would have been a true generator -> game ready asset tool.
Further more, I would like to work more with volumetric noise. The work I did in this area ended up looking to busy. In the end I added that noise in Designer instead.
